Unemployment Appeals

Law Office of Joseph F. HookIf you have filed a Rhode Island Unemployment Benefits Claim and your claim was turned down or contested by your employer, you have the right to appeal the denial of your Unemployment Claim.

Rhode Island residents are able to file an appeal within 15 days of the date on their denial letter and are entitled to Free Legal Representatnion by an Unemployment Insurance Attorney at the hearing.

Created by the Rhode Island Legislature, the RI Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board of Review is statutorily independent from the Department of Labor and Training.
